A Longtan Yoga Food Farming Experience with Kia Taiwan
  • Calvin Lee, Managing Director of Sime Kia Taiwan

Kia Taiwan (Sime Darby Kia Taiwan) organised activities at Longtan Yoga Farm as part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. Together with Kia Taiwan colleagues, the students with intellectual development disorders from Taoyuan City Private Chia Hui Education and Nursing Institute joined the session to engage in various farming activities including vegetables planting, harvesting and beans sorting.

The event was held at an organic farm with the aim to demonstrate Sime’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility, sustainable agriculture and community engagement. As part of the initiative, Kia Taiwan contributed 50kg of organic rice to the Chia Hui Institute while the farm owner from Longtan Yoga Food Farm matched this gesture by contributing organically grown sweet potatoes.

The team gained a deeper appreciation in food production, fostering a greater sense of food conservation. The collaborative nature of the activities, both amongst colleagues and students, promoted teamwork and highlighted the importance of mutual support and compassion. This initiative reinforced Kia Taiwan’s dedication to social and environmental stewardship and provided an opportunity for employees to contribute positively to the community.
