A Recap of Brands Represented by Sime Motors Embodying the Spirit of Innovation at the 2025 Autoshows


We’re still missing the buzz at recent autoshows. Here’s a recap of what went down and the models to anticipate by the brands represented by Sime Motors.

Malaysia Autoshow 2025

The Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS2025) has concluded as visitors flocked to see exhibitors showcasing their latest mobility solutions, with over 700 vehicles on display. The Auto show was the perfect grounds for brands also to educate the public about sustainable transportation and persuade them about its benefits as the main focus of the event was sustainable transportation.

BYD

BYD displayed their latest models from their lineup, mainly the BYD Seal, BYD Sealion 7 and BYD Dolphin.

The main attraction to the BYD exhibit was the Atto 3 Ultra with a canopy installed, highlighting the vehicle’s spectacular V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) capabilities. This feature turns the car into a supersized power bank, perfect for weekend camping trips where power is needed to turn on electrical stoves and other appliances.

BMW

BMW unveiled the BMW 330Li which features an extended wheelbase, updated driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control and 360 cameras, alongside improved Harman Kardon stereo. Other cars on show were the g90 5 series and the BMW R1300 GS Adventure motorcycle.

MINI also debuted two new JCW MINI models, with one being petrol and the other being electric driven alongside the all-electric MINI Aceman.

Ford


The latest Ford models were also on show, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak and Raptor. The Ranger is a high-performance pickup truck designed to tackle tough terrain with ease and comfort. With its rugged exterior, off-road capabilities and powerful engine, the Ranger Raptor is built to deliver unmatched performance and durability.


Auto Shanghai 2025

BMW Neue Klasse


Making the highlight as one of the key exhibitors BMW goes large on innovation by showcasing a multitude of groundbreaking technology, reinforcing its vision for the future of sustainable and high-performance mobility. The event served as a ground for the automaker to highlight the big leap it has made on electrification and digitalisation of alternative energy transportation, with the emphasis on the Neue Klasse vision.
The Neue Klasse concept vehicle is BMW’s next generation of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV). The model showcased a bold new design language with enhanced battery efficiency, Sustainability was a recurring theme as BMW emphasised heavily on recycled materials, energy efficient production and lifecycle management for its vehicles.


Denza Z9 GT

BYD unveiled its cutting-edge EV lineup led by 700km-range Denza Z9 GT luxury shooting brake. The showcase included the 800V ultra-fast charging Seal 2025 (300km in 10 minutes), compact Dolphin Mini city car, and sporty Ocean-M concept hatchback - all equipped with advanced DiPilot 5.0 autonomous driving. This comprehensive display, spanning from affordable urban EVs to high-performance models, demonstrated BYD's industry-leading vertical integration and technological dominance in the electric vehicle sector.

XPENG G9 2025 Edition

XPENG also took the opportunity to unveil the 2025 edition of the XPENG G9 SUV which features over 66 enhancements compared to the previous model year. The improvements include exterior and interior refinements with improved design and materials with an emphasis on comfort. Connectivity and tech also got an upgrade with enhanced infotainment and smart features, alongside a Turing AI Driving System: XPENG’s latest autonomous driving tech for better safety and navigation. A more optimized battery and powertrain with extended range is included for this edition.
