Kia Taiwan Achieves Impressive Growth in 2024
10,222 Units Sold, Surpassing the 10,000 Milestone for Two Consecutive Years!

  • Calvin Lee, Managing Director of Sime Kia Taiwan

On 3 January 2025, Taiwan’s sole distributor of Kia, Sime Darby Kia Taiwan, celebrated a remarkable 2024, marking a milestone year in its history. Despite a 3.7% decline in Taiwan’s overall automobile market, Sime Darby Kia Taiwan recorded sales of 10,222 units, surpassing the 10,188 units sold in 2023 and breaking the 10,000-unit barrier for the second consecutive year. This outstanding achievement cements Kia’s position as the fastest-growing imported car brand in Taiwan.

The key driver of this success was Kia’s flagship imported SUV, the Sportage, which accounted for 4,599 units and played a key role in the brand’s growth. The commercial vehicle Kia K2500 also contributed 2,248 units of sales, representing a 40% growth rate while setting a new sales record. Furthermore, two newly launched models in the fourth quarter of 2024 delivered impressive results:
• The new Sorento, a flagship LSUV, garnered over 600 orders.
• The new Carnival, a full-featured luxury MPV, accumulated over 700 orders following strong market response.
