LOCALLY ASSEMBLED CHERY TIGGO CROSS IN TURBO AND HYBRID ROLLS OFF THE LINE IN KULIM

KULIM, 31 JULY 2025 – Excitement is shifting into high gear as Chery’s newest SUV gets ready to hit Malaysian roads. Just weeks after its official launch (9 July), the all-new Chery TIGGO CROSS – in both Hybrid and Turbo variants – has begun rolling off the production line at Inokom, Sime Motors’ assembly facility in Kulim, Kedah.

“The TIGGO CROSS is our smallest and most affordable SUV yet — a modern crossover that speaks to a new generation of drivers who want efficiency, style, and smart technology in one exciting package. We are proud to assemble it right here in Malaysia, leveraging local capabilities and strategic partnerships that ensure we deliver global quality with local relevance.” said Michael Chew, Vice President of Chery Malaysia.

“We sincerely thank Chery for their continued trust in Inokom as a valued partner. The introduction of this new model is a testament to our strong collaboration and aligned ambitions. With the support of our skilled local workforce and robust assembly capabilities, we remain committed to upholding the highest standards in quality and delivery,” said Sui Keng Huat, Managing Director of Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd.

Chery TIGGO CROSS is offered in two powertrain options — a 1.5 Turbo and 1.5L Hybrid CSH variant — combining both fuel efficiency with responsive performance.

The TIGGO CROSS Hybrid CSH model features Chery’s Super Hybrid system, engineered for dynamic city driving while optimising energy use through intelligent transitions between electric and petrol power. The Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system combines the best of Super Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) and Hybrid Electric (HEV) technologies, delivering outstanding performance, extended range, superior efficiency, and class-leading Electric Vehicle (EV) capability — all essential for today’s discerning drivers. Delivering up to 1,000km on a full tank and charge, the TIGGO CROSS offers unbeatable range — making it a smart, high-value choice for Malaysian drivers.

“Assembling the TIGGO CROSS in Malaysia underscores Chery’s deep commitment to the local market while enhancing our capacity to offer more competitive, accessible vehicles. It reflects our broader localisation strategy and long-term vision for sustainable growth within Malaysia’s automotive landscape,” adds Chew.

As one of Chery’s flagship global models, the TIGGO CROSS has played a pivotal role in strengthening the brand’s international presence and building global trust.

In March 2025, Chery marked a major milestone when it celebrated the export of one million TIGGO CROSS units from Dalian Port, China — a testament to the model’s worldwide success and consumer confidence across markets. The TIGGO CROSS is now available nationwide from RM 88,800 (WM) for the TIGGO CROSS 1.5 Turbo while the TIGGO CROSS Hybrid CSH is available from RM99,800 (WM).

The Turbo variant comes in Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, Khaki White and Blood Stone Red while the Hybrid CSH variant is offered in Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, Khaki White and Moonlight Silver.
