Against Bullying on Pink Shirt Day
Sime Darby Motors New Zealand (SDMNZ) team recently came together to support Pink Shirt Day, showing their commitment to maintaining a safe working environment, free from bullying and harassment. Pink Shirt Day is an annual awareness campaign run by the Mental Health Foundation New Zealand, SDMNZ’s charity partner. In line with one of Sime Darby’s core values Care for All, this initiative reinforces the organisation’s commitment towards zero tolerance for bullying.
The team shared resources and tools to empower everyone to stand against negative behaviour, raising their call to action: Speak up, stand together, stop bullying! A day before the event, the organising team surprised everyone by changing their devices’ wallpaper to pink as part of the initiative.
On the event day, a range of activities were held, including climbing a local mountain, hosting barbecues and afternoon teas, and raising funds to support the Mental Health Foundation’s initiatives while all dressed in pink. Other than that, there was also a live Teams broadcast called ‘10minutes@10’ that was joined by the team, encouraging everyone to treat each other with kindness and respect every day.
