25 July, 2025 - Hong Kong – The new BMW iX xDrive45 has officially launched in Hong Kong, ushering in a new era of luxury electric SUVs. With its refreshed design and state-of-the-art technology, it redefines the standard for electric luxury, offering an even more exhilarating and exceptional sensory journey for owners. Featuring enhanced efficiency and powerful performance, the new BMW iX xDrive45 blends avant-garde aesthetics with electric innovative technology. Whether for personal use or family travel, it offers the most luxurious experience imaginable, achieving a perfect balance between sophistication and practicality.
Equipped with BMW’s fifth generation eDrive electric technology and optimised battery technology, the new BMW iX xDrive45 unleashes unprecedentedly powerful performance and superior range efficiency. With significantly increased power output, it delivers fast acceleration, precision control and overall improved driving experience. Alongside progressive lines and aerodynamic surfaces, the sporty appearance of the new BMW iX stands out with its upgraded BMW kidney grille and LED headlights.
Equipped with BMW’s fifth generation eDrive technology and the re-tuning of the drive system and optimised power electronics, the new BMW iX xDrive45 promises noticeably more spirited power delivery. Maximum power is topped by 82 hp to 408 hp and torque is upgraded to 700 Nm, resulting in a 1.0 s improvement in acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h, now at 5.1 s. The suspension, damping and chassis control systems have been fine-tuned to cope with the increased drive power and weight balance resulting from optimised battery technology. It guarantees superior driving pleasure and maximum rolling and acoustic comfort.
At the core of this system lies an advanced 94.8 kWh high-voltage battery, offering 30% increased energy content than previous generations and achieving an exceptional WLTP range of 490-602 km¹ – a remarkable 160 km improvement over its predecessor – unlocking worry-free long-distance journeys.
The new BMW iX xDrive45 pursues outstanding performance while also demonstrating rigorous commitment to sustainable resource utilisation. The biggest single contribution to the increased efficiency of the new model comes from the first-ever use of silicon carbide semiconductor components (SiC inverter) in a BMW electric vehicle, ensuring significantly more efficient energy conversion in the drive train, which is also more powerful and temperature resistant. With a low 0.25 drag coefficient and lightweight wheels made with 70% secondary aluminum alloy, it further enhances overall efficiency and driving range.

Avant-garde Design with Unmistakable Allure.
The exterior of the new BMW iX xDrive45 has an expressive presence and monolithic appearance. The striking, vertical kidney grille features the optional BMW Iconic Glow contour lighting and receives a graphical update: the pattern composed of vertical and diagonal lines provides a visual link between the kidney grille and headlights. Subtly imbedded into the kidney grille is its “Shy Tech” hidden technology, an intelligent functional panel seamlessly integrates cameras, radar systems and other sensors, enhancing the tech appeal while preserving the minimalist design. Moreover, the kidney grille is coated with a self-healing polyurethane layer that can repair minor scratches within 24 hours in room temperature. The slim LED headlights highlight BMW’s hallmark four-eyed design, with vertical, slightly slanted LED daytime running lights and turn indicators that amplify its futuristic flair.
The new BMW iX xDrive45’s side view blends sporty elegance with minimalist design. Clean surfaces flow between precisely sculpted lines, enhanced by frameless glass doors for a seamless appearance. Body-coloured lower trim underscores the imposing elegance and monolithic feel of the new model. The flush-mounted door handles that can be operated electrically are in a contrasting colour. Aerodynamically optimised exterior mirrors mount seamlessly to the window frame, finished in the car's colour.
The new BMW iX xDrive45 offers a palette of 8 exterior colours, of which “Arctic Race Blue metallic” and “Dune Grey metallic” are the fresh additions. The 21” light-alloy aerodynamic wheels come in option, tailoring to your personal preferences.

The new BMW iX xDrive45's interior blends spacious comfort with progressive luxury through minimalist, sustainable design. This individual charisma is emphasised by innovative architecture, thanks to the high-voltage battery positioned deep in the floor and the highly integrated drive units mounted directly on the front and rear axles. The absence of a fuel tank and center tunnel creates additional generous legroom throughout and a lounge-like atmosphere.
Apart from the optional Harman Kardon Surround Sound System featuring 18 speakers, 4-zone automatic air conditioning comes in standard for the new BMW iX xDrive45. The Sky Lounge panoramic glass roof enhances the bright and spacious interior with a one-piece viewing area that extends over all seats. The 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats maximize versatility, expanding the luggage space from 500 L to up to 1,750 L.
To enhance sustainability in the interior, the new BMW iX xDrive45 is equipped with floor mats made of 100% recycled plastic in the face fabric as standard. Recycled material is also used for the face fabric of the floor paneling and for the door and tailgate panels, integrating environmental consciousness into every design element.

The new BMW iX xDrive45 seamlessly combines unparalleled convenience with exceptional comfort, leveraging on innovative technology to deliver an enhanced interactive user experience.
The Live Cockpit Professional features a 12.3” information display and a 14.9” control display, the Operating System 8.5 with QuickSelect has streamlined control and operation, significantly reduced physical buttons and emphasised touch and voice control, designed with intuitive controls that prioritise user experience over visible technology. BMW Head-Up Display and the Augmented Reality overlays on the curved display bring data vividly to life – keeping key information always within your field of view. The BMW Maps cloud-based navigation system offers even better functions for charging-optimised route planning on long journeys. Charging stops are planned to arrive at the destination as quickly as possible while letting drivers set preferred charge status, stopovers and destination.
The new iX xDrive45 also supports BMW Digital Key Plus², enabling effortless access and start-up vehicle key using your iOS smartphone or Apple Watch. It automatically unlocks the vehicle when approaching and starts the vehicle without needing to take the device out of your pocket. Additionally, the Digital Key Plus* can be securely shared with up to 18 authorised users, offering a smart and convenient experience.

Intelligent Driving and Parking Assistant.
The new BMW iX xDrive45 comes equipped with comprehensive safety technologies. The standard Driving Assistant includes Front Collision Warning with Brake Intervention, Lane Change Warning with active return, Rear Collision Prevention, Rear Crossing Traffic Warning with Brake Function and Pedestrian Warning with city braking function. The optional Driving Assistant Plus includes Steering and Lane Control Assistant, and Active Cruise Control. While the optional Parking Assistant Professional includes Active Park Distance Control, Lateral Parking Aid, Reversing Assistant Professional, 360° 3D Surround View System, Remote 3D View by My BMW App and Manoeuvre Assistant. Hong Kong will also introduce the Remote Control Parking in 2026.
