Volvo Trucks New Zealand has made the all-new fuel saving Aero range of trucks available in the region.
The FH Aero will be available in New Zealand with either a 13-litre or 17-litre Euro 6 diesel engine or a fully electric heavy duty driveline.
The FH Aero features a new aerodynamic cab extended 240mm from its predecessor, further reducing drag and improving fuel efficiency. There are several cab options spanning between sleeper, Globetrotter XL and Globetrotter XXL options depending on customers’ needs and drivers’ comfort.
Volvo’s newly launched Camera Monitor System (CMS) also comes as standard on FH Aero. CMS features a zoom out function, automatic panning that tracks the rear of the vehicle while negotiating intersections, fixed reverse panning, and an infra-red mode for low light conditions. CMS drastically improves the driver’s field of view around the truck. The camera lenses are heated depending on the outside temperature to ensure a clear view in different weather conditions.
The FH Aero also comes with added driver support features like Pilot Assist and Front Short-Range Assist to detect vulnerable road users to improve driver and pedestrian safety.
The ICE powered FH Aero variants will be built at Volvo Group Australia’s Wacol manufacturing facility from mid-2025, while Aero Electric variants will be supplied out of Sweden.
